Universities South Africa (USAf) News Update
The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) has a partnership in place with the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) to promote the further development of engineering education in South African universities through support for research and capacity development projects. The RAEng implements its component of the partnership through what they have termed the Transforming Systems through Partnerships (TSP) scheme. The scheme recently released a new call for applications, details of which are shared below.
The DHET will implement its component through the Nurturing Emerging Scholars Programme (NESP), and the call for participation will be released later this year.

In order to inform interested candidates better on this opportunity, the RAEng has organised a webinar on Thursday, this week, to showcase awarded projects from previous years of the scheme. During that webinar, recipients of scheme grants from previous years will give short talks on their partnerships. This will provide an opportunity for potential new awardees to see examples of the partnerships that were funded in the past.
